Nada Fryer Kerr passed away January 2, 2012 at Mt Timpanogas Hospital in Orem, Utah from pneumonia. She was born to Alvida Luella Anderson and William Joseph Fryer on July 28, 1923 in Preston, Idaho. She graduated from Preston High School, then attended nursing school in Ogden, Utah. Nada terminated her education when she married William (Bill) Bailey Kerr September 6, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had five children: four sons and one daughter. \n\nNada sewed many clothes for her children. She enjoyed textile painting and taught classes in that art. Bill and Nada learned to square dance and belonged to square dancing clubs in Richland, Washington and again in Idaho Falls, Idaho where Bill worked at the Atomic Energy Plant west of Idaho Falls. Bill and Nada divorced in 1968.\n\nNada earned her degree in nursing at age fifty-four. She worked as an LPN for eight years then retired after a back injury. Her life was one of service to others. She spent hours picking raspberries then shared quarts of them with her neighbors. She helped raise her granddaughter, Messina Kerr, and was a tutor at her grade school. She served in Relief Society, Primary, and the Cub Scouting program in various callings in the LDS Church.\n\nNada lived in Idaho Falls for fifty-one years then moved to Orem, Utah where she lived with her daughter and family for six years. She is survived by her children Richard Lynn (Joan) Kerr of Chugiak, Alaska; Anthony Alan (Leah) Kerr of British Columbia, Canada; John Douglas Kerr of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Cynthia (Garlen) Johnson of Orem, Utah, and David Brent (Brenda) Kerr of Idaho Falls, Idaho; eleven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.\n\nA viewing will be held Monday, January 9, 2012, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Quail Bluff Ward Chapel 1380 East 25 North (Mountain Road) in Logan, Utah. A graveside service will follow at the Logan City Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. We will meet back at the Quail Bluff Ward Chapel after the service for a celebration of Nada’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations towards a headstone may be sent to Cynthia Johnson 603 Orchard Drive, Orem, Utah.
