Napoleon "Nap" Dela Cruz Obituary (1954 - 2015)

Napoleon "Nap" Dela Cruz passed from this world to the next on January 8th, 2015. You might know Nap from days doing "top-to-bottoms" at Snowbird Ski Resort, relaxing on the links at Fox Hollow Golf Course with the Men's Association, or backpacking though the Grand Gulch with family and friends. His signature smile, prominent mustache and his easy-going personality earned him many friends through his work at Snowbird and his extensive golfing family. He is much loved by his three children, Alana (Russell) Johnson, Alex, and Robert as well as his partner of many years Ellen (Blanchard). Born in the Philippines on November 28, 1954, he came to the States as an American citizen with his parents, as his father was in the U.S. Navy. His early years were spent growing up with his four siblings in Wildwood, Illinois, before moving west for the epic powder. Nap's love of music included accordion, Native American flute, guitar and singing. He enjoyed performing with friends and family in a variety of settings including a brief period of entertaining with his band mates of 'Vinyl Attic'. His love of music was passed on to his children. He is preceded in death by his parents; Salvador Dela Cruz and Leonor Sandique Dela Cruz. Family and friends are planning a celebration of Nap's life for January 31st.
