Olin Yearby Obituary (1940 - 2025)

Mr Olin Yearby, one of the really good guys, passed away on 12 March 2025, in the comfort of his own home in South Jordan, Utah. He was born in Waurika, OK, on 22 February 1940 to Leonard Olin Yearby, and Willie B Yearby. During his youth, he loved participating in all sports, and especially enjoyed being an Altar Boy in his beloved Catholic church. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he became a Medic while serving in Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he went to work for Page Aircraft and was eventually assigned to Dugway Proving Ground UT. While there, he met Vicky Hiatt and after a short courtship, they were married on 3 November 1967, and enjoyed 57 years together raising their family, retiring, and cruising the world. He so loved just hanging out with his two sons, Dustin and Drew. In 1969, he went to work for the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, and eventually retired as Assistant Chief Investigator for the Salt Lake District Attorney's Office in 1999. He totally loved his work in law enforcement. Olin is survived by his spouse Vicky, sons Dustin and Drew, daughter-in-law Rachel (Simons), and beloved grandchildren Luke and Emma Yearby. Per Olin's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life for a small group of family and friends held in the Spring/Summer.
