Oniel Holman Hansen passed away of COVID related illness on Friday, January 15, 2021. His sweet companion Patricia Louise McKay Hansen also passed away of COVID related illness just hours later on January 16, 2021.
Oniel Holman Hansen, 93, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was born in Fountain Green, Utah on January 11, 1928 to Jesse Levi Hansen and Jenna Catherine Holman Hansen. He married Patricia Louise McKay on April 23, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Oniel served in the United States Army during WWII and was stationed in Korea. He worked for more than 30 years at Whitmore Oxygen as a very successful salesman. Oniel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he quietly served wherever he was called.
Together, Pat and Oniel served for ten years in the Jordan River Temple. They had a true love story built on blood, sweat, and tears, but also love of family and deep commitment to the Savior Jesus Christ. Pat and Oniel are survived by their children, Paul (Kathy) Hansen, and Tim (June) Hansen, 5 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, Pat’s sister Diane Sperry and brother Charles McKay. Their passing leaves a void in the hearts and lives of their family and friends who dearly love them.
The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to the staff at The Wentworth at Willow Creek for their loving care of both mom and dad over the past three and a half years.
Due to COVID and following CDC guidelines, no public funeral will be held but there will be a joint graveside service at noon at the Fountain Green, Utah Cemetery on Monday, January 25, 2021. All are invited. Masks are required as well as social distancing. There will be a celebration of the lives of Pat and Oniel later in the year. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary. The graveside service will be streamed live and can be viewed by visiting www.jenkins-soffe.com and clicking on their obituary.
