Ora Beth Anderson Mitchell

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2006. Born June 29, 1920 to Neils Christian Anderson and Jennie Pearl Fausett in Castle Dale, UT. Married John Harry Mitchell on Jan. 27, 1942; solemnized in the Manti Temple April 18, 1942.
Ora was crowned Miss Castle Dale in 1940. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving various capacities in Relief Society, Young Womens, Sunday School and Primary.
Mom loved her family history, knitting, quilting, working in her yard and taking care of her family. She was always thinking of others before herself. She helped raise her brothers and sisters after her mother’s early death at age 44.
Ora is survived by her husband, Harry, of 64 years; sons: Larry (Char), John (Vivian); grandchildren: Lisa (Rich) Holloway, Michael (Andrea), Brady, Scott (Barbara), Jennifer (Joe Conder); great-grandchildren: Andrew, Shane, Casey, Cameron and Parker; great-great-grandchild: Kayden; sister: Phyllis (Milton) Olson of Solvang, CA; brother: Ray (Colleen) Burdick of Sunnyside, UT; former daughter-in-law: Susan Mitchell (Harold) Vordos of WA. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Reid, Lyle, Lloyd, Val and Ken; sisters: Faun and LaRue; and son: Boyd Lee.
The family wishes to express thanks to all of the kind neighbors and friends who have assisted Ora and Harry over the years. The family would like to send “Special Thanks” to the Sandy Beehive Home Staff; Dr. Whittington and staff at Alta View Hospital and Care Source Hospice for all their help and loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Cannon 5th Ward, 1250 W. 1400 So. A gathering for friends and family will take place prior to the service from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 So. Highland Drive.
