Oral Marie Henderson Gates Obituary (1920 - 2015)

1920 ~ 2015 Oral Marie Henderson Gates, passed away February 8, 2015. She was born April 18, 1920 in Park City to Hugh and Callie Henderson. She is survived by her daughters, Irene Gates, Andrea Burge, Connie Gates (Ken), Martha (Lib) Fullmer (Dan), Carla Peacock, Caroline Wallis (Tom); 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; 2 brothers, Hugh and Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Carl Gates; her parents; son-in-law, George Burge; 2 grandchildren and 7 siblings. Her favorite pastime in later life was golf, until she was 92 years old. She also loved fishing, camping, bowling, a good card game with her friends, and trips to Wendover. She and Fred owned and worked together for many years in the restaurant industry and she later worked at the University of Utah, where she retired. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Aspen Care, Silverado Hospice, and Beehive Home of West Jordan, for the care and love they showed our mother. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, February 18, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. prior to service.
