J) Phelps, 66, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 in his home in Bandera County, Pipe Creek, Texas surrounded by his wife and children.\r\n\r\nHe was born on Dec, 17, 1954 into the family of the late Orval Kemp Phelps, and Florence Charlotte Jacobson Phelps. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister Gary Lynn Phelps (Linda) (Eileen) Dale J Phelps (Susan) Kemp J Phelps (Sunny) and Gwen Steadman (Marlin).\r\n\r\nO.J is survived by his brother Alan J Phelps (Vicki) and two sisters, Zina May Whetten (David) and Alice Lori Robison (Steve). His wife, Sallie Dawn Ison Phelps and son Derek K Phelps (Yulia) and their children, Alisa, Amelia, Aiden, and Abigail. His daughter, Lexi Martin (Ryan) and their children, Ryah, Jace, Cade, Tien and Roxi. His son, Brett J Phelps (Marta) and their boys, Kai and Zane. His son Trey J Phelps (Diane) and their girls, Stella and Gentry. His daughter Kalee Jo Ellison (Josh) and their children, Aurie, Jaxon, Beau, Zoe and Mila. Many nieces and nephews who affectionately called him Uncle O.J. and cousins near and far.\r\n\r\nHe was loved and respected by all who crossed his path. His love language was “Service” and he exemplified that in a Christlike manner to all who needed help. This Giant of a man has a new calling now in another sphere of existence, but will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Copperview 3rd Ward, 12242 South 2700 West, Riverton, Utah, with a viewing from 9:00-11:45 am prior to the service at the church.
