Pamela Faye Howarth Crane was born November 19, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away on December 12, 2019, after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 79. Her earliest memories are in San Francisco, when her father was stationed there during the war. Her family returned to Salt Lake City, where she attended school, including getting her nursing degree from the University of Utah. She worked over 30 years at the University of Utah as a nurse in various positions throughout the hospital. Pam retired in 1999 and got to spend a few years being with her husband, Pete, before he passed away. She met Pete in church and they married on January 16, 1993 in the Jordan River Temple.\r\n\r\nThe first thing Pam bought when she finished school was a car and a horse. Those who knew her interests would not be surprised by those priorities. She loved horses, both as a rider and later, as a spectator. She participated in many parades and horse shows. She was also honored by the Arabian Horse Society with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Her horses, Fig and Cricket, gave her a lot of joy, as well as her cat, Peter. \r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, A. Peter Crane, parents, George Alvin and Faith Steed, and brothers, Wayne (Tina) and Lynn (Marjorie). She is survived by her brother David (Charlotte) and a large loving family of stepchildren, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be Friday, December 20, 2019, at 11a.m. at Three Fountains LDS Ward Chapel, 755 E. Three Fountains Dr. A viewing will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., and Friday at the church from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
