Patience J. Maudsley passed away Monday January 15, 2007. \nShe was born October 22, 1917 in Evanston, Wyoming to Robert William and Elva Eudora Lambert Jones.\n\nShe married William F. Maudsley November 19, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. Until her death, she resided in the home she and Bill built themselves in the late forties.\n\nShe is preceded in death by her mother and father and also by her siblings Robert Franklin Jones, Marie J. Hynes, Ray J. Jones, Elva J. Crane, John L. Jones, William Jones and Paul Jones.\n\nShe is survived by her husband William, three sons, Terry L. (Jerolee), Michael S. (Sydney) and Kelly S. (Barbara) and two sisters, Ruth J. Rowsell and Clara J. Borg. She will be missed by her 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.\n\nPat loved her roses and tulips and shared her gift of gardening with bouquets and arrangements for Stake Conferences, ward meetings and just to cheer a friend. \n\nShe served tirelessly in the church, mostly in the Relief Society and was proud to be considered the oldest Relief Society President of the church at age 80. In her calling she searched out those in need and gave selflessly of her time, talent and resources.\nShe shared her abundance with those around her and willingly bore others’ burdens.\n\nPat had a large collection of beautiful shoes and handbags and never came across a shoe store or catalog she didn’t like.\n\nThe family would like to thank Hospice for Utah for their kind and loving care as well as Brighton Gardens whose staff and facilities made her comfortable and happy. The family also is grateful to her many friends and neighbors who, over the years, had kind words and rendered countless hours of unselfish service to care for her. \n\nIn lieu of flowers, Pat would prefer a generous donation to The Humanitarian Aid Fund through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.\n\nServices will be held Friday January 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Millcreek 6th Ward Chapel located at 4600 South 600 East \n\nA gathering of friends and neighbors will take place Thursday January 18, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary located at 4760 South State Street.
