Paul Benjamin Fitt, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away May 8, 2010 in Murray, Utah after an extended illness. He was born in Taylorsville, Utah to Cyril Felix Fitt and Olivia May Nielsen on April 7, 1934. Paul married his sweetheart, Linda Stevens on November 5, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple.\n\nPaul attended Granite High School. He proudly served in the United States Army for two years. He had a beautiful bass voice and sang in the Soldiers Choir and the Pro Musica Choir. \n\nPaul was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving many capacities. One of his favorite callings was as Cub Scout Commissioner. He also was an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple. He served a Finland Helsinki Mission, and he and Linda served on a mission teaching conversational English.\n\nPaul enjoyed working in his garden, loved bargain hunting and spending time at Bear Lake. He was devoted to his wife, kids and grandchildren. Paul had a natural ability to fix things. He loved to watch the Jazz games and go out to dinner, and had an enduring love for his 1950 Ford F-3 pickup truck.\n\nPaul had an unmatched work ethic. He loved people and became friends with everyone he met.\n\nSurvived by his loving wife, Linda; children, Cheryl MacArthur (Rick), Kevin Fitt (Michele), Darin Fitt (Shauna), Bryan Fitt, Natali Steil (Caleb); 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings, Robert Fitt (Jean), Roger Fitt (Sheri), Marjorie Cox (Dean) Julia Cook, and Virginia Miller.\n\nFuneral services will be Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray 8th Ward, \n4600 South Brown Street. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
