\r\n\r\nOur beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away in her home on Monday, September 13. \r\n\r\nPhouvieng was born in Savannakhet, Laos to her loving parents who raised her with 8 sisters and 4 brothers. She later met and married her husband, Khampraseuth. \r\n\r\nAs things worsened in Laos, they decided to leave their family and the life they knew for an opportunity of a better life and the American dream. \r\n\r\nAfter a terrifying journey through the jungle and seeing many with the same dreams unsuccessfully reach their goal. Phouvieng crossed the Mekong river with her young son and finally reached the refugee camp. Together they flew to their new home in America. \r\n\r\nThey landed in Utah, where they had two more boys and created an extraordinary life with laughter, love, and a little fishing. \r\n\r\nShe will always be remembered as the anchor to our family, for her kindness to every person she met and her laughter. She will be forever missed. \r\n\r\nThe entire family would like to thank her daughter-in-law Kristy for taking such great care of our mother in her time of need. We will be forever grateful. \r\n\r\nWe also would like to thank our Hospice nurse Christy for her help guiding us through our mother's final days. \r\n\r\nWould you please join us in celebrating our sweet mother at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home in South Jordan. \r\nViewing - Friday, September 17, from 5 pm-7 pm, \r\nFuneral service on Saturday, September 18, from 1-4 pm. \r\n\r\nWe also welcome you to view the services online by clicking above.
