Quinney Lund Obituary (1949 - 2024)

Quinn Tingey Lund, 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on March 16, 2024. Quinn was born on April 29, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Howe J. Lund and Mary Tingey. After Quinn graduated from Granite High School in 1968, he then enrolled in the Marines reserve where he served for many years. He went on to go to college at Utah State University, where he was affiliated with Sigma Chi. He drove semi-trucks for several different companies in the summers to pay for his college. This is where he met Carol Lund and they were married in 1978 (later divorcing in 1986), he became a wonderful and doting stepdad to Troy Miller, they were buddies and remained close. In 1981, his daughter, Jennifer Quinn Lund, was born. Quinn enjoyed being a father and doing adventurous things with his children and grandchildren, from taking trips, hiking, golfing, biking, swimming, and going to the movies. Quinn loved sports and enjoyed watching and going to the Utah Utes games and watching the Raiders. Quinn became a Network Technician at Mountain Bell working there for 28 years. Quinn was able to retire early, leaving the phone company in 2009. Quinn then moved to Las Vegas to enjoy the warmer weather and to get out of the cold in 2013. Quinn was loving and very generous, his children and grandchildren were everything to him. Quinn was a proud grandfather and step grandfather to six grandchildren. Hillary, Jordan (preceded in death), Gage, Gracie (preceded in death), Sawyer and Wyatt. Stepdad to Troy Miller and daughter-in-law, Molly. Children, Jennifer Quinn Koester and son-in-law, Shane. Siblings: Garda, Deanne, Georgia, Richard, Calus, Kristine and Howard. A private celebration will be held but determined at a later date. Special thanks to Valeo Hospice in helping his daughter, Jennifer, to keep him comfortable and providing special care in his last days. In lieu of flowers, please take a loved one to a sporting event in memory of Quinn.
