Ralph Gerald "Jerry" Peters passed away peacefully on November 27, 2014 at the age of 82. He was born August 1, 1932 in Provo, Utah to Ralph and Ardell Peters. He attended Lincoln High School in Orem where he excelled in baseball and lettered in three sports. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1951-1955, stationed onboard the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea during his tenure. After returning from the service, Jerry met the love of his life, Deanne Jacobson, and they were married on October 7, 1955 in the Salt Lake City Temple. After several years living and working in the Provo area, Jerry and Deanne moved to Murray where they raised four children. Jerry loved working with people, and he quickly found his occupation in sales. His entrepreneurial abilities led him to one of his lifelong passions, as he went on to a successful career as owner of Kool Span Home Center (Kool Breeze) for over 35 years, operating the company in Murray until he was 79. His passion for baseball as a young man carried into his adult years as a fastpitch softball player and coach of his sons' baseball teams. He also enjoyed golf, hunting, and travelling with his wife. Both Jerry and Deanne were long-standing members of the Cottonwood Country Club. Jerry is survived by his wife Deanne; seven sisters; Mary Ellen Boulter, Norma Price, Janice Crocker, Susan Winger, Diane Wells, Sally Hughes, and Elaine Carson; four children: Alan Peters (Lori), Nancy Jacobson (Scott), Carolyn Boyd (Randy), and Todd Peters (Becky); and thirteen grandchildren. Jerry was a loving husband and father. His quick wit and happy smile will be missed but never forgotten.
