Ranae Ward Price of South Jordan Utah, our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went back to heaven December 1, 2022. We know there was a tremendous increase of smiles and laughter when she arrived there, because she carried them with her wherever she went. Ranae was 73 years of age and had been dealing with stage 4 colon cancer for 3 years.\n\nRanae and Bob were together for 52 years and were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and lived in South Jordan for 37 years.\n\nShe was born June 27, 1949 in Ogden, Utah to Edmund and Marie Ardelle Ward. Ranae was the 8th of 15 children. From age 4 to 7 her family lived in an unfinished two-bedroom home, her parents slept in the living room, all the boys in one bedroom and all the girls in the other. Both bedrooms had dirt floors, and there was no running water or indoor plumbing in the house. They hauled water for Saturday night baths, and had a two seater outhouse behind the home.\n\nLater she moved with her family from Utah to Washington then Las Vegas, Nevada attending school in all three states. When they arrived in Las Vegas their family was living near the poverty level and often there was very little food in the house. When Ranae attended 5th, 6th and 7th grade, in the school cafeteria she would buy one or two cookies for her lunch several days each week and save the rest of her lunch money so she could buy a loaf of bread or other grocery items to make sure her younger siblings would have food to eat at home. She stayed the same loving, caring person throughout her life.\n\nBob and Ranae met in1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada, started dating a year later, both moved to Ogden, UT, where both had family, it wasn’t until then they learned that they were both born in the same hospital and lived about two blocks away from each other when Ranae was born. They were married May 4, 1970, and had four children, Nanette, Mandy, Andrea & Adam.\n\nRanae worked with Bob in the restaurant business for many years, then decided to try something new. She went back to school at Salt Lake Community College where she achieved a grade point average of 3.7, then worked as a Pharmacy Technician for 26 years.\n\nRanae is survived by her husband Bob, her 4 children: Nanette Smith (husband Darrin), Mandy Rasmussen (husband KL), Andrea Callister (husband Paul), and Adam Price (wife Beth).\n\nSixteen Grand Children and One Great Grandchild, 5 Sisters: Connie Peterson, Marilyn Sheeler, Cheri Kimbauer, Michelle Ward, Diane Ward, and 3 brothers: Gary, Dean & Ted Ward.\n\nCelebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 9th, 2022 from 6-8pm & Saturday, December 10th from 8:30 – 9:45am at 2556 West 9800 South, South Jordan, Utah.
