Born March 23, 1933 to Raymond J. and Helen Broberg Blanchard. Passed away peacefully in his sleep June 9, 2011.\n\nRay Blanchard was known and loved by many friends and acquaintances for his friendly and generous ways. He has always been a hard worker and was very knowledgeable about the projects he undertook, and had many projects he wanted to yet complete.\n\nAs he was growing up he worked with his father on road construction throughout the western states and learned to handle and maintain heavy equipment. He graduated from Logan High School in 1952 and when his military service was complete he attended Utah State University and earned his BS degree in hydraulic engineering.\n\nHe married his high school sweetheart, Janice Kloepfer. Their family consisted of five children, Dennis (Randi), Christi Curvin (Jack), Laurie Emerson (Dave), Ellen DelaCruz (Napoleon), Margaret Horton (Rod), 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The house on Vine Street has been their home for over 50 years. June 5th was the celebration of 58 years of marriage. Survived by his only sibling, Wilford Blaine Blanchard, Logan.\n\nFuneral services will be Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Murray 1st Ward, 363 East Vine Street. The viewing will be on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Logan City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
