Raymond Edward Larsen

Raymond Edward Larsen died March 3, 2008 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 23, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ole and Anna Mae Larsen. He married Alene LaRue Jones almost 60 years ago on April 23, 1948.

Ray attended Stevens-Henagar College after serving in the Army as a Corporal earning an honorable discharge in April 1947. Ray worked in the business field before working as a civil electronic engineer for HAFB and Ft. Douglas. He enjoyed woodworking—making several items on display in the homes of family and friends. He could fix anything and master any skill he set his mind to do.

He is survived by his loving wife; daughter and son-in-law, Laura & Reid Fowler; sister, Grace Melgaard Holmquist (Milton); sister-in-law, Fae Melgaard; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, George Melgaard & Jack Melgaard.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 12 Noon at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine Street, Murray, Utah. Friends and family may call from
11:00-11:45 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street.
