Richard (Rich) Theodore Brandt
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather passed away peacefully on the evening of October 2, 2026.
He was born May 18, 1944 to Dorothy and Theodore Brandt in Denver, Colorado. He and his older sister, Judy, were raised in Englewood, Colorado. He was a Colorado native and graduated from Englewood High School. He worked as an Engineer on nuclear power and coal-fired power plants through out the country. In the mid-1980s, he worked at Kennecott Copper Mine’s ore conveyor belt project in Salt Lake City.
After his love for family, he loved all dogs, trout fishing, University of Denver hockey and the Denver Broncos. He had a life long love and fascination with horses and donkeys. He sponsored, with both time and money, horses at the Wild Horse Sanctuary in South Dakota. He also loved working with his hands. He was a trained locksmith and liked to build doll houses for his wife and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diana Brandt, his son, Scott and his daughter, Michele. He has five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bellaview Assisted Living and Enhabit Hospice for making Rich’s last weeks comfortable and helping him pass into our Lord’s loving hands.
There is no funeral or public viewing planned, just a private family remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in his name, in any amount to:
