Dick Easterly, 80, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Dick’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11 am at Mountain Vista United Methodist Church, West Jordan UT. Services to be conducted by Pastor Phil Rogers. Burial will be at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park.\n \nDick was born on July 24,1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and served in the United States Army Security Agency in Germany during the Vietnam War. When he returned home he entered the banking profession and rose from a teller to the president during his 44 year banking career. He was a graduate of the School of Banking of the South and Harvard University Banking School. He served as the President of the Louisiana and the Colorado Independent Bankers Association of America. He served on numerous banking committees and civic organizations throughout his career. Dick was an avid golfer throughout his life and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survived by his wife of 56 years Nancy Clark Easterly, children and their spouses Susan and Jeff Meyer, Richard Clark and Sandy Easterly, grandchildren Brittany Anne Meyer, Alec Jeffrey Meyer, Hunter Clark Easterly, Hayden Petrie Easterly, brother James and wife Ginger Easterly, sister Sharon and husband Guy Watkins, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Embree and Ruth Easterly and brother Robert Easterly.\n \nThe family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for the exceptional care they gave Dick for the past 12 years.
