Richard “Dick” Joseph Flynn, 89, loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Murray, UT. He was born in SLC, UT to Joseph Patrick Flynn and Mary Viola Williams Flynn. Just recently celebrating their 70th anniversary, he married Mary June Flowers on June 20, 1942.\n\nDick was a champion golfer and played for many years with “The Troops” at Glenmoor Golf Course. He was a home builder and developer. He loved spending time with his family creating numerous traditions and memories.\n\nDick is survived by his wife, June, and four children: Dennis (Johanna) Flynn, Cortney (Jeannie) Flynn, Wendy Rodriguez and Tracy (Sandy) Jensen; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Dean, Belva, Loyal, Tom, Carolyn, Kay, Marla and Janet. Preceded in death by his daughter, Colleen Sorenson; sister, LaRaine Robison; son-in-law, Joseph Rodriguez; and parents.\n\nFuneral services will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Hyland Lake Ward, 981 East Revere Circle. Viewings will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.\nInterment: Murray City Cemetery.
