Our beloved Husband, Brother, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, and friend, Robert Jefferies Lawrence Sr. passed away on February 26, 2022 at the age of 83 in Salt Lake City, Utah. His two-year battle with melanoma cancer showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, he came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.\n\nBob was born on March 22, 1938 in Tooele, Utah to Charles Everett Lawrence Sr. and Vera Jefferies Lawrence. He married Patricia Elizabeth Phelps and later divorced. He married the love of his life Carol Naylor on October 4, 1986, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple October 9, 1991. \n\nHe attended Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bob worked at Hercules Aerospace for 38 years and retired as the Director of Marketing. He retired at the age of 56, allowing him to do the things he loved to do. His hobbies included hunting, golfing, fishing, boating and traveling with his sweetheart Carol. \n\nBob was the definition of a gentleman. He was patient, kind, loving and supportive. He had a gift to see the potential when you couldn't see it in yourself. He meant so much to his children and his grandchildren. They looked forward to his birthday calls and a birthday card with a special note written just for them. May we all live our lives the way he did, treating others with respect, finding the good in all things and loving family unconditionally. \n\nBob was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions of teaching and leadership. Bob and Carol particularly enjoyed the time they served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple. \n\nHe is survived by his wife Carol, his five children, Robert (Shelley) Lawrence, Karen (Korry) Soper, Thomas (Lynette) Lawrence, Leslie/Jennie (Dan) Dahlberg, Kimberly Sommers. 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his parents, sisters, Lucille Knowlden and Dorothy Iman and brother Charles Everett Lawrence Jr.\n\nFuneral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Wasatch 6th Ward chapel on 8100 South Top of the World Drive, Cottonwood Heights. Friends and family may visit Thursday evening, March 3rd from 6:00-8:00 PM, and prior to the service on Friday March 4th from 10:00-10:45 am at the Wasatch 6th Ward building. Burial will be located at Elysian Burial Gardens at 1075 East 4580 South.
