Bob was born on June 29, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Clif and Laura Shotwell Reid. \nBob grew up in Magna and attended Webster Elementary School where he first met his special “life mate”, Beth. They graduated together from Cyprus High School. He married Elizabeth “Beth” Ashby on Aug. 29, 1946. He helped build their home in Murray, where they lived for 56 years. Beth passed away March 9, 2005.\nBob was employed at Kennecott before serving in the Marine Corps during WWII. Bob had a career in sales before finding his true passion in commercial art and display works. He took pride in and was known for his creativity and quality “craftsmanship” in both his personal and professional life. He loved growing a garden and cooking. He enjoyed sharing those special talents, as well as hunting, fishing and vacations, with family and friends. Bob was a member of the LDS Church.\nBob is survived by his son, Dan (Cheryl); sister-in-law, Dortha Reid; 3 grandchildren, Aimee (Alan) Smith, Brian (Angela) Reid, and Kevin Reid; 4 great-grandchildren, A.J., Alex, Lexi, and Aiden. Bob was also preceded in death by his brother, Ken.\nFamily and friends will miss Bob dearly, but will always have their many special memories. \nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 12:30 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., where friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Graveside dedication will follow at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S.
