Robert Schouten

Robert L. Schouten passed away on December 13, 2023 surrounded by family. He was born on October 7, 1939 to Jack (Adrian John) and Laura Nielson Schouten in Murray, Utah. He married Koradine Beckstead on October 2, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was drafted into the Army in 1960, serving in Germany. He attended the University of Utah in accounting and became a CPA. He served in many positions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Young Single Adult Leader, Bishop, and Missionary in Yonkers, New York. He knew how to work hard and to have fun. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and water fights while rafting the Green River. He was generous with his time and money always helping others but preferred it to be anonymous.

Robert is survived by his wife Koradine Beckstead, children John Robert Schouten (Shawn Dee Hasenberg), Kyle Royal Schouten (Lorelei Pierce), Lynnet Schouten Huggins (Luckner Huggins), Stacie Schouten Foote (Ryan Garry Foote), unofficially adopted son William Campbell (Connie Murphy), 23 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack (Adrian John) and Laura Nielson Schouten.

There will be a viewing on Monday, December 18 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah 84095.

On Tuesday, December 19, there will be another viewing from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. The funeral will follow at 11:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1239 W Country Creek Drive, South Jordan, Utah 84095.
