Robert Edwin Turpin, age 53, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends in the early hours of Saturday the 8th of July 2023 after a brave and valiant battle with a short illness.\n\nRobert was born to Robert Clyde Turpin and Andrea Marie Turpin on the 16th of November 1969. Robert’s love of camping, fishing, and hunting were part of Robert's life since the day he was born and he passed his love of the outdoors to all of his children!!\n\nRobert met his eternal companion, Janene, in the summer of 1989. Robert was beyond smitten from the moment he met Janene, and he knew that Janene was the only girl for him. They married and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple on the 2nd of November 1990 and they began to build their lives.\n \nRobert was the definition of a gentle “tough guy”! Robert's tender heart was on full display at the births of each of their children. Robert was not too happy to share the babies with anyone else, besides Janene. Robert’s tenderness was amazing!! He LOVED being a dad and took every opportunity to spend time with each of his children, as well as all of his nieces and nephews! Robert would do ANYTHING for Janene and their children and grandchildren. Robert made sure that each of his children knew they were his “favorite” and each child holds a special place in Robert’s heart that is theirs alone.\n\nRobert gave the BEST hugs!! Robert would forget how incredibly strong he was and he would hug you so hard no one would ever doubt the love he had for his family! …..we will miss those powerful hugs! As Janene recently stated “if hugging was an Olympic sport Robert would have won gold!!!”\n\nRobert loved nothing more than spending time in the outdoors & hunting every single hunt possible, every year with his brother Steven…….and anyone else that wanted to try and keep up!! Annual vacation times were taken in tandem with Steven’s vacation time so they could spend as much time as possible hunting and sitting around a campfire telling stories that got bigger and bigger every year! Hot chocolate and “fire donuts” will always have a special place in our hearts because of Robert!! Robert and Steven are the definition of what brothers should strive to be!!\n\nRobert was predeceased by his father, Robert Clyde Turpin. Robert is survived by his wife of 33 years Janene, and their children BreAnna Turpin, Nichole Dougherty (Devin), Shaylee Long (Garret), Nathan Turpin, and Ashley Turpin, his 3 (and soon to be 4) grandchildren, his dear mother Andrea Turpin, his favorite brother Steven Turpin (Christine Turpin) and his 2 sisters, Mindy Turpin and Karen Hogue and his many nieces and nephews.\n\nRobert requested a celebration of life be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Robert’s loved ones to join us in celebrating Robert's amazing beautiful life at the ward house on 11400 South and 2447 West on Saturday the 15th of July 2023 at 11:00am.
