Roger Swalberg Davis

–

Salt Lake City, UT

Roger Swalberg Davis was born to Ross Beck Davis and Beth Swalberg Davis in April 1943 in Salt Lake City and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, April 26, 2021.

Roger served a Spanish-speaking mission to Texas for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Linda Killpack in April 1972 (later divorced), and they had two daughters. He actively served in his church throughout his life; and, in his later years, he particularly enjoyed working in the Salt Lake City Temple.

He had a curious and eager mind and loved learning. This showed in all that he did, whether it was building cars with his brothers growing up, or wanting to learn and experience everything he could about the places he traveled to and the people he met there. He loved music, books, and movies of every kind. He was a fantastic storyteller—many bedtimes and long trips were made better when he would tell a story. Roger had a challenging life filled with much sorrow, but at his core he was a gentle soul with a jovial sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughters: Liesel Davis and Anna Campbell (Erik); his six siblings: DeAnn Nielsen (Warren), Brent Davis (Karen), Douglas Davis, Charlie Davis (Nancy), Mary Bishop (Loren), and Julie Sherrill (Terry); and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at Murray 12th Ward Building, 363 East Vine Street, Murray, on Friday, May 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
