In Loving Memory
Ron was born in Bingham, Utah, the oldest child of Royal and Fern Reynolds. He was raised on a farm with his two brothers and two sisters. After graduating from high school he joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. He proudly served during the Korean War. On a short leave in Los Angeles he met his wife Joann. They were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Ron was honorably discharged at the end of his term with the Navy and began his formal education. He attended school at Stevens Henager College and Brigham Young University. He began his career in Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation. In the mid 1960s he moved his young family to Hamilton, Montana to be closer to his parents who had relocated several years earlier. He found work as a letter carrier and helped people with their taxes on the side. He also owned a small dairy.
Eventually he sold the dairy and opened a computer store instead. He was a visionary and quoted in the late 1970s that someday every home would have a computer. Unfortunately he couldn’t keep up with the big guys and eventually closed his storefront. He did manage to hold on to a few loyal customers and always kept up on the latest innovations in the computer world. He continued his bookkeeping and tax preparation services until the time of his retirement.
He enjoyed his life in the beautiful Bitteroot Valley. He worked his mail route every day and loved his customers. He was a proud member of the American Legion in Corvallis and marched in the Memorial Day parade every year. He was an active member in his church.
He and Joann eventually had twelve children together. Later he met his second wife Yvonne with whom he had four more children.
After thirty-five years with the post office he retired. He took on various Handyman jobs to keep him busy. Later in life he met and married Phyllis. They had many grand adventures and thoroughly enjoyed the few years they had together.
Ask anyone who knew Ron what they remember about him and the reply is always the same “Ron was a really nice guy”! He touched the lives of so many. He will be remembered as husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, milkman, mailman, businessman, handyman, and always a gentleman.
Ron is survived by all of his children: Elizabeth, Katherine, Thomas, Joseph, Margaret, Esther, Anna, Nathan, Rebekah, Joshuah, Susannah, Theresa, Pauline, Felicia, Marlin and Gloria, as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife Phyllis and his siblings: Ken, Marcia, Rebecca and Milton.
