Samuel Miera journeyed into the light early Saturday November 5th with his loving wife Mary Miera by his side. He was born October 6th, 1928. He was one of the first indigenous baseball players from Yooto Hahoodzo to be drafted (by the Yankees) but then injured himself and couldn’t play. He was a teacher for many years and retired to St George, Utah. While living in St. George where he played 18 holes of golf most days of his retirement, walking it all until he couldn't walk anymore. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He made every person who knew him feel special.
