Sandra Jo Hansen White, 61, was born June 19, 1955 to Joseph Fay Hansen and Janis Hilda Hansen in Salt Lake City, Utah. She died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Palmdale, California after suffering a massive heart attack.
Sandi graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1973 and in nursing from Brigham young University in 1976. A few months later she married the love of her life, her best friend Bryce White in the Salt Lake temple. They moved to Los Angeles where Bryce attended USC and Sandi worked at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. They raised their family in California City, California and Bakersfield, California. Sandi loved her children and devoted her time to teaching and caring for them. She held many callings in the LDS church, her favorite being early morning seminary teacher where she served for ten years. She had a great love for the gospel and enjoyed sharing it with the youth, including her children and grandchildren.
While raising her family, Sandi earned a bachelor's degree in education which added to her talents as a nurse. For the past seven years, Sandi enjoyed and devoted herself to her job as an RN case manager, then Nurse Educator, and then Director of Patient Care Services at Optimal Hospice Care. She earned the Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse credential. She was much loved and admired by her employees for her patient, caring leadership. Her patients and employees appreciated her concern and love for them. This job gave Bryce and Sandi the opportunity to live in Stockton, California and Palmdale, California.
Sandi was always cheerful and happy to see everyone, always a kind word and a gracious presence, always helpful to those around her. She was so tender and sweet and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Bryce White; her mother Janis (Hansen) Riding; her siblings Susan (Scott) Hutchison and Todd (Carolyn) Hansen; her children Anne (Ray) Goodale, Tiffany (Mike) Leavelle, and Ryan White.
