Scharlene Neeley Dobson Obituary (1929 - 2011)

Scharlene Neeley Dobson returned to heaven to be with her eternal companion, Donald C. Dobson who left just two weeks earlier to prepare the way and welcome her home. They were married in the Logan Temple December 8, 1949.She was born March 16, 1929 to Harvey Mareo and Verda Doney Neeley and passed away January 26, 2011 of natural causes.Our mom was a great friend and confidant to her twelve children and many others who sought her listening ear and loving counsel. She had an open heart to all and service was her middle name.She served her Heavenly Father faithfully in everything she was asked to do. One of her favorite callings was to serve a mission with her husband in the India Bangalore mission and Cambodia Phnom Penh mission, spreading her loving, fun personality in far away countries.She is survived by her children Sandra (Milt) Petersen, Doug (Cherie) Neeley, Donna Lee (Grant) Tolley, daughter-in-law Barbara Dobson, Brent (Dawna) Dobson, Kari (Terry) Pickett, Kurt (Lori) Dobson, Kayla (Roger) Clark, Luann (Lance) Mortensen, Trisha (David) Culler, Shelly (Brett) Roberts; her sister-in-law Judy (Bill) Alder; and many friends and family. She has 56 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister, husband, son Neil C. Dobson, daughter Cassandra Iris Dobson, sister-in-law Rhoda (Ted) Allen.Friends and family are welcome to call on Saturday, January 29, 2011 during the viewing at the Crescent Stake Center, 10945 So. 1700 E., from 11:00 am-12:30 pm with the funeral services at 1:00 pm.The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Emerald Point Care Center, Cedar City, Utah, Draper Rehab and Care Center, Draper, Utah and Affinity Hospice Care.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
