Click HERE to view Funeral Services for Sherryl Allan Sherryl Stewart Allan peacefully passed away October 7, 2020 at her home in Draper, Utah. Sherryl was under the care of Veleo Hospice at the time of her passing. Born to William Preston and Olive Ethyl Morley Stewart on September 20. 1933 in Milburn, Utah. In her early years Sherryl was raised on a farm, the youngest of 5 children. Sherryl was orphaned at an early age of 12 (father) and 16 (mother) and was raised by siblings and families of high school friends. Married Walter Franklin Dexter Allan on March 15, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Sherryl supported Walter as he served in the United States Army and they traveled the world dragging along their six children. Walter and Sherryl moved 18 times in 22 years. Walter retired in 1977 and together they moved back to Utah, residing in Cottonwood Heights and Draper for 43 years. Sherryl was nothing but supportive to her husband of 68 years and her family. In their retirement years Walter and Sherryl served 3 full-time Missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arcadia, CA and Indianapolis, IN. Sherryl also served several service missions for the Church that included indexing and special projects at the Church Headquarters. Her life was a life of service to her family, Church and community. Sherryl was an avid quilter, seamstress, typist, cook, vocalist and genealogist. She was always knitting or crocheting to keep her hands busy. She knitted a Christmas stocking for each of the 80 members of her family. She was active and served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for over 20 years and wrote over 20 histories of her ancestors. We all knew what the DUP was. Sherryl was preceded in death by her 3 granddaughters: Aubrey and Ashley Bateman and Brooke Bateman. She is survived by her husband Walter (Dexter) Allan, her daughter Kristine (Kenneth) Martin Idaho Falls, ID, Son Stewart (Becky) Allan Sandy Utah, Daughter Paulette Johnson Holliday, Utah, Son Kenneth (Janyce) Allan Draper, Utah, Son Walt Allan, Holladay, Utah, Daughter Liz Tidwell, Tucson, AZ. 23 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren. A viewing will be held Monday evening October 12, 2020 at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 So.), South Jordan, UT 6-8 P.M. Due to the pandemic, Walter and the children will be there to greet you. We are limited to 50 people at a time in the building so we will try and keep things moving so we can visit with as many of you who come. Sherryl will be interred at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Camp Williams on Tuesday October 13, 2020 starting at 12:30 P.M. followed by a funeral/celebration for immediate family only in Eagle Mountain, UT.
