Steven Jay Mortensen, Sr.

“Until We Meet Again!”

Our cherished husband, father, son, brother and uncle passed away Jan. 18th, 2006. Steven was born to Hugh and Hartence Mortensen March 15, 1966.

He had many talents. He loved working with wood and making cakes for his kids. He was an active member of the LDS Church. His biggest love was his family. He married Lisa Newkirk and later divorced. He then married the soul mate of his life, Monica Porter. They were later sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Steven is loved very much and we will miss him extremely.

Survived by his wife, Monica; 12 children, Steven Jr. (Angela), Keith, Mark, Dean, Candace, Montai, Monique, Tinaya, Laura, Isaiah, Adam, and Blossom; 2 granddaughters; mother; 5 brothers; 2 sisters; and many nephews and nieces.

We would like to thank all the people who stopped to help at the scene of the accident. Donations may be made to the Mortensen Family Trust Fund at Zions Bank.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25th, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns 1st Ward, 4575 W. 5415 So. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 So.) and Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
