10/20/1945 ~ 9/5/2018\r\n\r\nSunia F. Tua’one passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 a few days before his 73rd birthday, surrounded by his loving family. When Sunia immigrated to the United States, he made Salt Lake City his home where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Rudarmel, and together they grew spiritually and served faithfully in the Church. He served in several leadership positions in the ward and the stake. He and his wife, Betty also served two service missions for the Church. With values deeply planted in love of God and others, Sunia gave freely of his time and substance to his several callings in the church and in helping others. \r\nSunia was a simple man who lived his life simply without fanfare or show. He had strong work ethics and spent many years securing AAA designation for his fledgling construction company (Big Rock Construction). As a man who loved working with his hands, he found great joy in raising his garden, chickens and livestock. He loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He lived by the adage, ‘It is not what you have but what you give’ that matters in the final analysis. Sunia was a fighter and bravely fought the aggressive glioblastoma (brain cancer) that claimed his life in a very short period of time.\r\nSunia is the fifth child born to ‘Epalahame and Lilevai Tua’one of Fahefa, Tongatapu, Tonga. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; their son, Sunia, wife, Lexi; and the four grandchildren who were the joy of his life: Sunia, ‘Anau, Betty and Mila. \r\nOur heartfelt gratitude goes out to Sunia’s surviving siblings, his many nieces and nephews, the members of the Bountiful 6th Ward, and the professional staff of CNS Hospice Care. Your loving kindness and support during a very difficult time will always be treasured.\r\nViewing and funeral services for Sunia will be held on Saturday, September 8th, at LDS Chapel, 1509 West 1500 South, Woods Cross. A family viewing will be from 8 -12 p.m. followed by the service. \r\nInterment at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West.\r\nOnline condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
