Susan DeHerrera

–

Murray, Utah

Susan Kay DeHerrera was born November 8, 1956 in Murray, Utah to Donna W and Carl Anderson. She was the third of five children. She always enjoyed spending time with her siblings.

Susan attended Granite High School. While working at Bonwood Bowling she met Anthony DeHerrera. Shortly after, their son Jason was born and they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and got married.

After five years in New Mexico, the family moved back to Salt Lake City. Susan got a job at Deseret Pharmaceuticals, which later became Becton Dickinson, as a machine operator. She eventually became an assistant supervisor in her 25 years with the company.

When she left Becton Dickinson, Susan moved in with her son and his family. She loved being a grandma and helping raise her granddaughters. Susan enjoyed being able to travel with her family and she was able to visit Maui, her favorite, go on several cruises to the Caribbean, and even visit Disneyland.

In her free time she loved being in the yard. She often planted flowers, worked in the garden, and watched her hummingbirds. She was very proud of her son and his family. Susan was always overjoyed at seeing her girls perform.

Susan passed away on August 15, 2026 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donna and Carl, two sisters, Carla and Cheryl, and Tony, her ex-husband. She is survived by her son, Jason, daughter-in-law, Kristin, four granddaughters, Callie, Avery, Brynn and Morgan, her sister Robyn, her brother John and several nieces and nephews. She is deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

A short visitation will be on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 9:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe in South Jordan, followed by a graveside service at the South Jordan Cemetery at 10:00 am.
