Susie "Tuchi" Montoya

“Tuchi”Our Beloved “Tuchi” shared her last earthly dance with Gilbert her sweetheart of 47 years just prior to dancing her way into the arms of the Lord an Savior on January 1, 2010.She peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family following a battle with lung cancer.Susie was born May 16, 1944 in Durango, Colorado to Elifar & Georgia Trujillo Jaramillo. Married Gilbert E. Montoya on July 7, 1962 in Durango, Colorado.
Tuchi loved to dance, spending time with her family and worshiping in church with the family of God. She also enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling with family.Susie’s greatest accomplishment was her role as wife, mother and grandmother. Family came first in her life.She is survived by husband, Gilbert; Children – Cindy (David) Valdez, Stephen (Doreen) Montoya, Sonya (Lewis) Gonzales & Revis (Andrea) Montoya. 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sisters & brothers – May, Jim, Max, Elsie, Martha & Virginia, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents a brother Phil and sister Nancy.We wish to thank Mary Townsend and the staff of Huntsman Cancer Institute, our special home care nurse Yolanda, “Tuchi’s” prayer partner Shirley Castro and Rocky Mtn. Hospice for their tender care and concern.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 So.) A viewing will be held Tuesday 6 – 8 pm and Wednesday 10 – 10:45 am. Interment South Jordan Cemetery.
