Ted Ivison Obituary (1969 - 2022)

Ted Leroy Ivison passed at the age of 52 on July 9th, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He sadly died of a broken heart after the passing of his loving wife, which led to acute hepatitis caused by alcohol consumption. Ted was born on August 20th, 1969, to James Ivison and Jeanne Peterson. He married in January of 2009 the love of his life, Mona R. Johnston, and became a bonus dad to her two children, Casey and Hanna. Since he was young, he had a great passion for sports; he played baseball, golf and softball throughout his life. Of all the sports he loved, being a FOOTBALL fan was his passion, it was even his first word. Not just football but the RAIDERS. The Raiders weren’t just his favorite team, they were the only team. He never missed one of their games and attended as many as he could. He had more Raiders swag than most could imagine. Even though Ted enjoyed many things, he absolutely hated chocolate, but he would never have turned down a slice, or two, of banana cream pie. He was a true Leo. He had lived a life full of generosity, big-heartedness, compassion and love since the day he came into this world. His heart became as big as he was tall, and at 6’5” there was enough room in his kind heart for everyone he surrounded himself with. Ted loved many but nothing more than his wife, Mona, whom he cared for with every ounce of himself when she became ill and until the day she passed. He also enjoyed the presence of his many fur children over the years, including his Yorki Mia, who helped him get through the loss of Mona. Ted had started working at the age of 13 picking tomatoes at Broc’s farm. He later found his career at Q-quest. He worked for them for over 20 years as their top salesman, where he also got to work with one of his best friends, Jeff Houston. Ted is survived by his mother, Jeann; brother, Barry; and his two children, Auston and Weston; sister, Teri, and her husband, Sean, along with their children: Carson, Shelbi, and his bean child, Brandi; and her children: Allysa, Joe, and Caleb. Ted also leaves behind his dog, Chloe; roommates Jeff; and his cousin and lifelong friend, David. Ted is preceded in death by his wife Mona, father Cloyd “Pete” Peterson, Grandma Norma, Jim Ivison, and his loving pets, Luscious, Kiya, and Mia. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mick Riley’s Clubhouse located at 421 E Vine St. Murray, UT 84107 on Friday, July 22nd from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Casual attire, Raiders or, Jazz apparel encouraged.
