Terri Kaye Moss
Terri, a beautiful soul, was loved and cherished by everyone who knew her—a burst of color that shined bright through all of us. On January 11th, 2024, Terri Moss passed away in her home located in Murray, Utah.
Terri Moss was born on April 23rd, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her loving
parents Jerry Moss and Jedda King. She achieved remarkable academic accomplishments, obtaining various Master’s degrees in diverse fields as well as competing on the vault for the BYU gymnastics team. “Watch me and hear me ROAR,” she would say. Her can-do attitude was always inspiring. She was a school teacher and an athletic training (published in the paper as the first female trainer for the BYU football team). Terri had a gift for healing and helped countless people overcome their challenges as a talented therapist.
Terri was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a great visiting teacher and always willing to lend a helping hand. In her spare time, she enjoyed cuddling up to her beloved cats, “fur babies”, Bella and Pitter-Paws. She also loved hiking, camping, motorcycling, singing her heart out to the album “Power of Woman” by Karen Drucker, and playing family board games, especially her favorite card game SKIP-BO.
Terri Moss is survived by her siblings, brother Jed Moss and sister Rebecca Hanna. Raised in an LDS family home, they will carry the wonderful memories and love of childhood bonds in their hearts forever. Terri was a fun and caring aunt as Owen “O” would express, whom she adored very much. In fact, she shared a unique relationship with Owen and all of her nieces and nephews. She has 10 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great great nieces and nephews. She happily accepted an informal adoption as a mother (role) to Brandy and Grandma (role) to Elsha, Dravin, Elijen, Keadin, and Mufasa.
She was a mother and a grandma in every way that mattered, and gave them her heart and her support. Terri integrated herself into families wherever she went. There will be Terri sized holes left in many families not related to her by blood. In addition, she is survived by her first love Debbie Brown, though no longer together, they shared a loving 17 years as life partners and will always be a cherished memory.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Smithfield Utah Senior Citizen Center located at 375 East Canyon Road, Smithfield, Utah, with a viewing prior to the service from 12:00-12:45 pm.
