Timothy E. Rider

Tim was born to Kevin and Gayle Rider on February 15, 1977. He passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at home on December 29, 2016. Tim married Mandey Stanbrough and later divorced.
He is survived by his parents; sons, Payton Bryce and Phoenix Shane; brothers, Morgan (Nichole) and Matthew (Marina); sisters, Elizabeth (Buffy) Neil and Brittany (Scott); grandparents: Kenneth B. Searle, Jr., Betty Rider, Wayne and Eunice Rider. Preceded in death by his brother, Cameron, and Grandma Pat.
Tim was a free spirit and lived his life his way, but family was #1. His life was one big party; he had no regrets. He liked camping, basketball, football (especially Da Bears), volleyball, foosball, darts, cards; and he loved going to the movies and playing golf with his son, Payton. He loved going to family reunions because he loved all his aunts, uncles, and cousins and playing the late night poker game. He loved kielbasa with angel hair pasta and asparagus. He hated mushrooms. He made his living by playing poker and was planning on going to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 2017. He had played in the series several times in the past, and was able to achieve any goal he set his mind to.
A celebration of life will be held on January 7, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 5720 South 4270 West. There will also be a last call at Scofy's, 7176 South 9th East, Midvale, from 8:30-10:00 p.m. Just mention Tim at the door, and we will be in the back room.
