Todd "Toad" Frank Ashley Obituary (1962 - 2017)

Todd was born June 8, 1962 in Murray, Utah to Frank and Elma Ashley. He married his high school sweetheart, Tina Aragon, on February 23, 1980. They had two beautiful children, Tim and Nicole. He worked as a forklift operator for many years. He loved to go fishing, hunting, and camping. Going to Wendover to gamble and drink was a favorite. He loved John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. He was an avid 49ers fan. On May 11, 2012 he was diagnosed with lung cancer, which metastasized to his brain and adrenal glands. The doctor gave him nine months to live. He defeated the odds and was still kicking butt 4 years and 8 months later. He was a miracle, "mind boggling cancer patient" is what the doctor called him. His streak came to an end unexpectedly on January 8, 2017 after getting the stomach flu. His body was too weak to fight the virus, ending his life very quickly. He is survived by his wife Tina Ashley; son, Tim Ashley (Jennifer); daughter, Nicole Ashley-Rhodes (Billy); grandchildren: Baylie, Tayton, Brayden, Adaline, Lliam, and Brexllie; mother, Elma Ashley (Ray Pauli); sister, Terie Snieder (Henry); siblings: Jamie Carr, Dolores Aragon, Randy Aragon (Jen), Jeremy Aragon (Natalie); aunt, Maxine Higbee; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is greeted by his granddaughter, Ayslin Rhodes; fathers, Frank Ashley and Manuel Aragon; siblings, Angela Aragon Carr and Gilbert Aragon; grandpa & grandma Ashley and Bringhurst. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, Utah 84107. A graveside gathering will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10 a.m, at the Bountiful Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W. Bountiful, Utah 84010. Luncheon to follow at Ashley residence.
