Treva Seymour

–

Taylorsville, Utah

Treva Marie Seymour, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and great grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 16, 2026. Her life was a shining example of faith, humor, discipleship, service, and most of all, love.

Treva was born on August 1, 1935, to Harvey Bruce Martin and Lois Irene Fuller in Mankato, Kansas. While always proud of her Midwest roots, the vast majority of her childhood and schooling years were spent in Nampa, Idaho, where she would work on her father’s farm in addition to taking care of her school studies. She spoke often and fondly of her time on the farm and of her years at Sunny Ridge Elementary.

While attending Nampa High School she somehow got hooked up with what she says was the cutest guy at rival Boise High School. He was fabulous on roller skates she would say, and he had a cool car. The two of them became soul mates and were married in Winnemucca, Nevada on September 23, 1954. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple in 1963. They spent 71 years side by side. Over the years they have raised four children: Don (Cyndee), Ed (Shannon), Steve (Angie), and Susan Burton (Russ). They then became the proud grandparents of 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She worked as a bookkeeper at various places, mostly at Buehner Concrete in Murray, Utah. While she did enjoy her working life, raising her children was her greatest joy and was always her top priority, and she made this very apparent in the way she lived her life.

She was welcomed back to her heavenly home with great joy by her eternal sweetheart (Gary), just in time for their 72nd wedding anniversary. She was also welcomed by her parents (Bruce and Lois Martin), her two sisters (Martena and Loraine), and a host of other family members. She is succeeded by all four children, all grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many other family members.

All funeral-related services will be held at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary on 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, September 22, 2026, from 6:00-800pm, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary. A second viewing will be held on Wednesday morning, September 23, and will begin at 10:00am. The Funeral Service will follow the viewing and will begin at 11:00am.

The family would like to express sincere and special gratitude for the wonderful team of healthcare providers at Legacy House of Taylorsville, and to Aspire Home Health and Hospice for their dedicated compassion and care during Treva’s final months and hours.
