She was raised alongside her brothers, Vorris, Kent and Billy (all deceased) by her caring mother Reva Hitchcock. Her mother worked hard to provide a good life for her children.\r\n\r\nShe spoke often about her youth and the years she spent growing up in Emery County. Many close friendships were formed during her childhood there which she was fortunate enough to maintain through her entire life. She graduated from South Emery High School in 1948. In November of that same year, she married her high school sweetheart Bill Curtis. Later solemnized in the Provo temple. They shared 32 beautiful years together before dad’s passing in March of 1981.\r\n\r\nMom enjoyed painting, quilting, embroidering and gardening however her favorite thing was reading and she read thousands of books throughout her life. She was an excellent homemaker and cook. Her Parker House rolls were a must at every family gathering as well as her potato salad and Carmel pudding.\r\n\r\nShe was a faithful lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In her later years she continued to study the gospel in her own simple way.\r\n\r\nHer legacy includes her treasured grandchildren. She enjoyed supporting them in all their activities and loved sharing with them life’s special moments. These are a few words they would say describe their grandma “Curly,” witty, selfless, spitfire, good listener, sassy, strong, independent, funny, fierce, resilient, inviting, sharp-minded, caring and artistic.\r\n\r\nMany of these wonderful qualities will live on in each of us.\r\n\r\nShe is preceded in death by her husband, mother, brothers and granddaughter Ashlee. She is survived by her children Greg (Gayle) Curtis, Kathy (Doyle) Jensen, Peggy (Jim) Ritchie, Jeff (Kristi) Curtis, 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\nWe invite you to join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the LDS stake center located at 5980 South 1300 West, Taylorsville.
