Valan Frank Kirkman Obituary (1976 - 2012)

Valan Frank Kirkman, 36, of West Jordan died Thursday May 3rd at University Hospital from injuries sustained from a fall in his home. He is survived by his parents: Verla Neukam and Kirk C. Kirkman (Aleath), and siblings: Kathleen Carmel Kelly (Darin); K.C. Kirkman (Tania); Sheena Kirkman-Paxman (Brett); and Shilo Kirkman (Lyndzee), in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, including his girlfriend, Brooke Vandenaker. Frank was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He will always be loved and never forgotten. Memorial Services will be held at a later date, to be announced, for Fall of 2012 or Spring of 2013. Frank filled his life with joys and passions that ignited the flame in his zest for life, and he lived only by the rules that he set for himself. He was a true friend, a brother, a son, a lover, a fighter and a larger than life personality. Of many things, he was a musician, a poet, a thinker, a scholar and a gentleman; he was a comedian, a cynic, an honest critic, and an individual. Frank had the gift of being a true a story-teller, and a story maker. The bonds that he shared in life will not be broken by his death. His legacy will survive and live on through each and every person he touched, in laughter, in tears, in sorrow and in sharing – by remembering who he was, and how much he meant to every single one of us.
