Van William Wayman Obituary (1943 - 2016)

Van William Wayman passed away at his home in Taylorsville, Utah on May 20, 2016. He was born in Castle Dale, Utah on April 6, 1943 to Oscar and Naomi Wayman. Van married Patti on January 14, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Patti thought of Van as a real "man's man", and for the last 36 years she was the love of his life. Preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Wayman; sister, Mary Wayman; and granddaughter, Jenny Wayman. He is survived by his wife Patti; brother, Don Wayman; and sister-in-law, Sandy(Jim) Seale; children: Sheri(Rick)Evans, Ken(Diane) Wayman, Jolene Lasater, Jim(Cathy) Wayman, Jim(Trudy) Leary and Shaani(Mike) Berg; grandchildren: CJ, Jessica, Michael, Stephany, Nikki, Shaantai, Casey, Amber, Jim, Hailey, Christopher; and 11 great-grandchildren. Van was known for his patience, strength, perseverance, courage and hard work. His love of family, golf, fishing and University of Utah athletics is insurmountable. Van will always hold a place in the hearts of all he met. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, Utah and on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 10-11am, followed by a graveside service at Holladay Cemetery, 4900 S Memory Lane at 11:30am.
