Vanita Kay Grundmann
1946 - 2024

Our beautiful mom and grandma joined her “hunny” on Wednesday, March 6th 2024. Vanny battled dementia for many years but it was her heart that finally released her. Vanita Kay Johnson Grundmann was born November 7th 1946 in Montana to Van Johnson and Jacqueline Warren Johnson.
She lived her younger years in Oregon. She loved horses, barrel racing and was the head Cheerleader in high school. She spent many summers in Yellowstone where her parents were park rangers. She loved the beautiful mountains and trees of Oregon and Montana.
She met her husband Dan the love of her life while he was serving his mission in Oregon. They married on September 3, 1965 In the Salt Lake Temple. They raised seven amazing children which as it turns out, was a blessing. They each were privileged to spend one day a week caring for her over the last 4 years. Mom had a great sense of humor and even kept that all through her years of dementia.
Vanny had an immense love of music, which carried down to her children. She played the flute. She spent many years leading the ward congregation, which was her favorite calling.
We will miss her spunk and colorful personality greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Van and Jackie Johnson, 2 of her brothers Ron and Terry Johnson and her eternal companion Daniel W Grundmann.
She is survived by her 7 children LeeAnn (Lane) Myers, Tina, Daniel J (Billie Jo) Grundmann, Lori , Aimee (Bennie) Foster, Susie(Archie) Bell, Joni; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren as well as her Brother Mike (Carol) Johnson.
We are so happy you and Dad are reunited.
We Love you Mom!
