West Valley City, Utah
Vaughn DeNorr Pollock (Sherm) passed away on January 21, 2022. He was born on May 15, 1947 to Sherman DeNorr Pollock and Lucy Elaine Pollock. He served in the U. S. Army.
He married June O’Brien in 1967. They welcomed one son, Shane Pollock. Later divorced. He married Vicki Streeter in 1973 and added another son, Cody Pollock, to his older brothers and sisters, Sandi Mansfield, Clint Coker, Kelly Coker, and Miki Coker. Later divorced.
After many years he married Kathy Mitchell after being together for 10 years. Why not? This union added a few more children to the mix, Truthanne Hagen, Tonja Weight (Shayne), and Robert Hagen (Tami).
With each passing year he gave me strength to overcome whatever came at us. He taught me to love being at home.
He worked for Kennecott for more than 24 years at the smelter. He had great respect for all the people he worked with. He retired for 2 years before getting restless. He went to work at West Valley City. He loved being with all the younger kids because he said they had his back. He learned to run the vactor. It was something new. In the winter he plowed the snow and was proud to get the roads done to perfection. When he turned 66 he said he was done for good and retired. He had time to spend with his grandkids who were always trying to get him out of the house.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Pollock; his children: Cody Pollock (Amanda), Truthanne Hagen, Tonja Hagen (Shayne) and Robert Hagen (Tami); 13 beautiful grandkids and 8 great-grandkids.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State Street, Murray, with a viewing prior from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Interment will be at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
