Victor Candland Gee

–

Murray, UT

2/20/1931 ~ 5/28/2016

Victor (Vic) Candland Gee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away on May 28th, 2016 from complications caused by a recent stroke. Vic was born February 20th, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Sidney Victor Gee and Annie Eugenie Candland. He graduated from Granite High School and soon after married Bonnie Rae Maxwell in the Salt Lake Temple. They divorced in 1965. On May 28th, 1969 he married Muriel Gay Parsons. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Vic served in many positions in the LDS church. He served with Gay as a stake missionary. His two favorite callings were serving as a temple worker with Gay in the Jordan River Temple and being a home teacher. The thought that someone would not be visited saddened Vic. He lovingly visited 17 home teaching families every month for years.
He was a skilled carpenter and builder who generously helped many people. He also worked for the DOT as a Bridge Crew Foreman, which included "anything that needed building" in the job description. Vic loved the desert mountains of the High Uinta's, and was the most happy when he had the family together. He longed for his unique, combined family to come together in harmony. He couldn't die peacefully until he had wished his wife a happy 47th anniversary and extracted promises from each of his children to take care of her and be a family.
He is survived by his wife, Gay; brother, Ronald Frederick Gee; children, Victoria Gee, Colleen Oscarson, Annette (Keith) Emmer, Charla (Ray) Barton, Cathy (Jorge) Palacios, Russell (Deanna) Gee; 25 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret (Duane) Christensen; and granddaughter, Courtney.
A viewing will be held for friends and family on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 AM, at the Heritage Ward, 67 West Clay Park Drive, Murray, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016, 11:00 AM, at the Heritage Ward. Interment will be at Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
