Violet was a loving mom, grandma, “grandma great”, sister and friend. Violet passed away peacefully at home with her daughter, Sandy, in Salt Lake City, October 10, 2008 at the age of 85 from cancer of the bone marrow.\n\nViolet was born May 8, 1923 in Panguitch, Utah to Joseph and Effie Miller. She later moved to Salt Lake City where she worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as an operator and senior supervisor for over 10 years. She married Harold Sweek November 3, 1956; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1971.\n\nShe made the best peanut butter fudge ever! She always made beautiful blankets and afghans for the new babies of friends and family. She had a great sense of humor which she kept with her even while her health was failing. While everyone she left behind will miss her deeply, we are happy she has returned to her Heavenly Father and has been reunited with her family and many friends.\n\nViolet was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, as well as 4 sisters and 3 brothers and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Miller Stroud; son, Kevin Harold Sweek; two granddaughters, Stephanie Anderson (Tracy) and Shawna Smith (Brandt); three great grandsons, Marek, Alek, and Ayden Anderson; sister, Effie Reynolds (Jim); brother-in-law, Kenneth Topham; and many nieces and nephews.\n\nServices will be held at the Stake Center in Salina, Utah, on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. with a viewing from 11-12:00 prior to services.
