This wonderful lady’s life began on October 16, 1939 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her family moved to Hunter, Utah while she was still young, she lived on 5600 West for 14 years. Virginia graduated from Cyprus High Class of ‘57. She always enjoyed basketball, softball, and she could really rollerskate. She married John Westlund and had three beautiful babies; Ginger, Wesley Westlund and Penny Simmons. They were later divorced. She retired from USWest after 30 l/2 years. She was currently employed at UTA as a passenger counter; where she developed many friendships. At the time of her death she was surrounded by family and loved ones. She lost her battle with cancer peacefully on October 6, 2012. Virginia is survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and by her brothers, Ralph Hasson and Bob Profitt. She was loved by all who met her and she will be greatly missed by all.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Ben Jones, and son-in-law Chad Simmons.\n\nMemorial Services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012, 12:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray. A visitation will be held 11:00-11:45 a.m. prior to services.
