William Paul Hoffman\r\n“Bill”\r\n\r\nWilliam (Bill) Paul Hoffman, devoted son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away on February 26, 2019.\r\n\r\nHe was born in Yankton, South Dakota, April 19, 1947 to William and Esther Hoffman. He was raised by his mother in Mitchell, South Dakota where he attended Notre Dame High School. He later resided in Burlingame, California. He served his country from 1965 to 1971 in the United States Navy and after a tour of duty in Vietnam was honorably discharged. He then moved to Utah. On May 15, 1971 he married Helen Sorenson. They raised two wonderful children, Jeffrey Paul and Brenda Helen. He was extremely proud of his family and loved doing everything as a family. He enjoyed the beautiful Utah mountains, camping, archery hunting, fishing golfing, and teaching both children the art of those activities. Covering all the back roads he could find, he also enjoyed traveling with his family, especially in his 1979 CJ7 Jeep (nicknamed Betsy). Yearly, at Christmas time, he decorated the yard with thousands of lights for all to enjoy. Bill was always there to give a helping hand to anyone and took great pride in all of his accomplishments. \r\n\r\nBill was employed 22 years as a Supervisor at Unisys and then 19 years before retiring as Senior Manufacturing Supervisor for Edwards Lifesciences LLC (formerly Baxter Medical and Research Medical). He was a loyal employee and admired by all who worked for him. \r\n\r\nHis presence will be missed by his family and friends. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Helen; children, Jeffrey (Kristen) Hoffman and Brenda (Nathan) Barnes; sister, Sharon (Joseph) Mallek; sister-in-law, Mary Hoffmann; grandchildren: Austin (Kim) Hoffman, Coltin (Ciara) Hoffman, Cheyann (Steven) Johnston, Dalyn Hilton, Tyson Hutchings, Abbigail Hutchings, Allie Barnes (Austinn Howard), Dylan Barnes; four great-grandchildren: Kamryn, Kayzlee, Krew, and Kaylor; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Esther Hoffman; sister, Barbara J. Einerwold; and brother, Jack E. Hoffman. \r\n\r\nA viewing will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., and the services will immediately follow at 12 noon. Interment: Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah.
