Nona “Grand-no” Gardner, was born, Winona Louise Allgood, in Comanche, Oklahoma on December 13, 1924. Mom passed away quietly with family the evening of August 12, 2011. She was the third child to Samuel Young Allgood and Mary Rawlings Allgood who were in the Methodist ministry in a young Oklahoma. Her two sons, David Neil Worsham (Maurine Pace) and Richard Young Worsham (Elizabeth Swinson) survive her.\n\nNona graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1948 with a degree in Education. She continually passed on her wealth of knowledge in her everyday life to people all around her. She married H. Neil Worsham in 1946. She helped support and start two successful exchanger companies. She was the President of the Women’s Auxiliary of Professional Engineers. She married James H. Gardner Jr., a Geologist and Land Man, in 1973 and they were married until his death in 1999.\n\nDuring her life she was a teacher, homemaker, financial investor, friend and the best mother you could ask for. She was articulate and passionate about the things she did, including enjoying her breakfast with her many friends and attending many social activities. Her love for Bridge lead her to become a Life master. A skill she carried from place to place as she traveled to see the world with her friends.\n\nHer friends and family knew her for her warm smile, colorful clothing and generosity; and always as a gracious, proper southern lady. She loved spending time with her 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandsons. The love shared between Nona and her family and friends will forever grow until we all meet again.
